Beasts and Omens
As part of the themed month "Animal Art 2026," curated by Gallery Publicartists – City Gallery Vienna, I decided, on very short notice at the time, to take part.
Having been artistically inactive for a few months at that point in February 2026, yet still wanting to present new works, I created 16 pieces within the month of March 2026 under the series title "Beasts and Omens". This series explores various ways of depicting animals across different styles, and includes new experiments for me in working with color and material.
In particular, this series was an opportunity to try out a new approach to my creative process. All artworks were worked on simultaneously in groups of up to six, and as a result were each completed on the same day. To some extent, this can be observed by the colors or techniques used.
The thematic ideas draw from the extensive pool of concepts and inspirations I've gathered over the years. Some of the works are closely tied to fantasy and mythology, while others were shaped by keyword-style prompts suggested by a few of my friends.
The exhibition itself ran from late March to late April and was, overall, a lovely experience for me as well. My thanks go to everyone who was able to take the time to visit the exhibition.
